Pastor James White, has served as the Senior Pastor of Christ Our King Community Church since its inception. He is a gifted expository Bible teacher, speaker, historian, thought leader, writer and community advocate. He is originally from Barco, NC and a graduate of East Carolina University. After graduation, he joined the full-time staff of Cru, formally known as Campus Crusade for Christ. Through his ministry, life and leadership God has truly expanded his territory as a grace-filled leader. As a market-place leader, he currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Organizational Relations for the YMCA of the Triangle Area. In addition, he is also an Adjunct Professor at Southeastern Seminary where he teaches a class on Social Justice and Race. He is a highly sought out consultant, speaker and facilitator for several organizations and companies on issues relating to inclusion, equity and diversity.

As a community leader, he serves on several boards including the Martin Luther King Committee of the Triangle, NC Museum of Natural Sciences, chairs the NC Dr. Martin Luther King Commission where he was appointed by the Governor Cooper. And he is a Senior Fellow/Scholar for the Sagamore Institute. He has served as chapel speaker for over 10 NFL teams, including the Pro Bowl in Honolulu Hawaii, spoken at numerous of college campuses, retreats, churches and conference speaker. He has written several published articles and co-authored several books. He and His wife, First Lady Cynthia White, have been married over 33 years and they are the parents of three young adult children.

She is a native of Hampton, VA, and a graduate of Old Dominion University, in Norfolk, VA. Also, she is an entrepreneur, speaker, coach, mentor, and published author of a 31-Day devotional. She is a former part-time Adjunct Instructor of Wake Technical College, served on the board of a local Non-Profit, and volunteers with NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) of Wake County. First Lady Cynthia is a lover of tea, fresh flowers, gardening, crafting, hospitality, cooking, decorating, and all things animal print.
